Mitch Hedberg RIP
Death abound. Comedian Mitch Hedberg passed away, and I guess a “great story” of his is when he bought a hotel room for a bunch of fans who drove 6 hours to see him. My friends from the dorms and I were those fans, we drove to cincinatti from ann arbor for a show of his. Here’s the radio show eulogy talking about him, our incident is mentioned briefly near the end of the broadcast. Here’s a little bit of Mitch on the same program, for those unfamiliar with his comedy.
I happened to have seen him at the State Theater in Detroit just a few weeks ago with friends from my last job. His standup that night was way off, in retrospect it probably had a lot to do with his health.

Mitch was a very unique guy. His comedy was hilarious in its originality. I mean, quite honestly, how many stoner hippy comedians can you call a stoner hippy comedian? And if that isn’t confusing enough for you, then you probably understand his comedy pretty well and can appreciate all he has brought to the table. It’s too bad about his death, but he’ll be remembered for the laughs he gave. He was even played quite a bit down here in Columbus, OH. That’s pretty damn sweet to have bought a hotel room and say that it was friends of mine who it was bought for. Good blog, Paul. Kudos. -Steve-o
